Document 02

Privacy policy

  • v2.0
  • Effective 12 July 2026

The short version

We collect the least we can get away with, use it to make matches safer, and never sell it. Your ID documents are encrypted and never shown to another user.

01

What we collect, and why

Every row below is data we actually hold. If something is not on this list, we are not collecting it.

Name, phoneTo create your account and let hosts reach you
Government IDIdentity verification only — never published
LocationTo sort listings by distance. Off by default
MessagesDelivery, and safety review after a report
Device & usageTo fix crashes and spot fake accounts
02

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your personal data to anyone, for any price.
  • Show your exact address publicly — listings display an area, not a house number, until you share it in chat.
  • Read your chats for advertising, or share them with a host or seeker you haven't matched with.
03

Who else sees it

Three kinds of partner, each under contract and each limited to what they need: Smile Identity for ID checks, Paystack for subscription billing, and our hosting and analytics providers. Field agents see only the address and photos of the property they are sent to verify. We also disclose data where a Nigerian court or regulator lawfully requires it.

04

How long we keep it

30 days
Deleted account data
90 days
Chat history after a stay ends
7 years
Billing records, as tax law requires

Data lives on servers in Lagos and Frankfurt. Where it crosses a border it does so under the safeguards the NDPA 2023 requires.

05

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask for a copy of your data, have mistakes corrected, withdraw consent, or have your account erased. Every one of those is a tap away in Settings ▸ Legal ▸ Your data, and we answer within 30 days. See how to make each request. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
